The role of project manager in organisational knowledge processes

Knowledgesmith founder and blog author, Richard Smith, delivered a presentation to the PMI South Africa Chapter - KwaZulu-Natal regional branch on 22 October 2015. The topic covered the role of Project Manager in organisational knowledge processes.

Presentation Title:
The 90% - Project management and the knowledge continuum.

Abstract:
According to the PMBOK® Guide, approximately 90% of a project manager’s time is spent on communication activities during a project. The presentation explores this knowledge area, which could probably more accurately be described as project information management, and how this relates to knowledge management processes for the organisations affected by the project, and the influence of digitalisation on the tools and techniques available to the project manager.
